Bio
Randall Krieger is a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator from the Bay Area California. He has performed numerous festivals, fairs, tours, and events with various bands, and his music has been performed across the US and in the UK.
Randall has performed in many different genres including metal, rock, folk, Celtic, jazz, classical, and avant-garde alongside artists such as Sepultura, Dirty Cello, Obscura, Beyond Creation, Night Harvest (former members of Blackmore's Night), and many more. He is the founding member and guitarist of the medieval folk rock band The Unquiet Grave which performs at festivals, renaissance fairs, and themed events across the west coast. He is also a member and plays hammered dulcimer in the black metal band Botanist.
Randall is the founder of Bay Area Composers Group, an arts organization that produces new music concerts, and supports an inclusive environment for composers, musicians, and artists to share ideas and collaborate. His music has been commissioned and performed by artists such as Amoveo ensemble, The Arc Project, Red Shift Ensemble, Roberto Granados, CSUEB Wind Symphony, CalArts Concert Choir, and many more. He has given lectures on contemporary music research in acoustics and folklore at the new music conference hosted by the Arc Project, SF Free Folk Festival, Bay Area Composers Group, and more.
Randall attained his MFA in guitar performance and composition at California Institute of the Arts, where he studied guitar with Miroslav Tadic, and lute performance with Stuart Fox. He also studied Composition, Indian music and Persian music. He Studied guitar with Marc Teicholz at CSUEB where he attained his BA.
